Group functions are a great activity for schools, organizations, team-building, church gatherings, fund-raisers, scouting or campfire troops.  They help in bringing people together in a non-intrusive creative manner that fosters sharing and a sense of community.

Purple Glaze provides paint, brushes, smocks and a cool ceramic critter for each participant.  Group functions can take place in our studio or your facility.  Drop us a line…we’d love to help you plan your next group event.

Typically, participants paint the ceramic piece with an under glaze and leave at our studio to “glaze and fire.”  This process makes each item food and dishwasher safe.  The “glaze and fire” normally takes about three days.  Purple Glaze recommends this process for platters, plates, cups, bowls and other ceramic items that will actually be used.

Children’s groups and birthday parties usually choose another painting option:  an acrylic stain and spray sealer for the ceramic project.  By using this method, group function participants may take their project home with them upon completion.  Acrylic stains may not be used on dishware and other ceramic items to be used in the kitchen.

Purple Glaze has hundreds of ceramic pieces to choose from – dogs, cats, monkeys, birds, dragons, fish and even frogs.  With all of these pieces (and lots of others) to choose from and group pricing starting at $6.00 per participant (in our studio)…it is an affordable fun way to engage your attendees in a creative and fun manner. 

Purple Glaze will also bring all ceramics and supplies to your location for an additional $1.00 per student.  Please ask about this option and remember, hold hands and stay together!
